Livestock OS is South Africa's livestock movement, compliance, and traceability control layer. It is built by Inhouse OS (Pty) Ltd — a South African systems architecture and infrastructure company based in Pretoria.
Livestock OS is not a farm management application. It does not replace the systems that farms, vets, feedlots, or abattoirs already use. It is a control layer — a system that sits above the existing chain and enforces the rules, sequences, and verifications that the chain requires to function with integrity.
The livestock industry in South Africa has participants at every level — from smallholder farms in rural provinces through to large commercial feedlots, major auction houses, and processing facilities. What is missing is not more software at each point. What is missing is a single, shared state of record that all participants can write to and read from, with verified identities and enforced rules.
That is what Livestock OS provides.
Inhouse OS is a South African systems architecture and integration company. We build operating system layers — connected infrastructure that allows organisations to run their operations from one controlled, structured environment.
Livestock OS is our vertical implementation for the South African livestock industry. It is built on the same architectural principles as all Inhouse OS systems: validation, authority, state, and failure are first-class concerns — not afterthoughts.
If you are a farm, vet practice, feedlot, transport operator, auction house, or abattoir — or if you represent a regulatory body, industry body, or potential technology partner — we want to hear from you.
