Limited Pilot Programme
Be part of the
first verified network.
Livestock OS is currently in a structured pilot programme with a limited number of farms, veterinary practices, feedlots, and abattoirs. Pilot partners receive full platform access, onboarding support, and direct input into how the system develops. Positions are limited and allocated in the order applications are received.
Pilot Programme
What pilot access includes.
Pilot partners are not beta testers. They are the first entities in a real, functioning chain. Every animal that moves through a pilot partner's operation is tracked from registration to slaughter results — with full compliance enforcement, live chain status, and a permanent audit record. This is the production system running on a structured rollout.
01
Full Platform Access
Access to your role-specific portal — farm, vet, feedlot, gate, or abattoir. Full chain functionality from day one. Live data, real batches, real compliance records. No demo mode or simulated chain.
02
Onboarding Support
A dedicated onboarding session to register your entity, add animals, and configure your operation. We walk through the workflow with you until your team can operate the system independently. Available in person or remotely.
03
Connected Chain
Your operation is linked to other confirmed pilot partners in the chain — creating a real, working network from farm to abattoir. The more entities connected, the more complete your chain. We prioritise geographic and supply-chain proximity in pilot matching.
04
Direct Feedback Channel
Pilot partners have direct access to the development team. Your operational insights shape how the system behaves in the real world. If something doesn't match how the industry works, we need to know — and act on it.
05
No Cost During Pilot
Pilot access is provided at no cost for the duration of the structured pilot period. Commercial terms for continued access will be confirmed before the programme concludes — with preferential rates for pilot partners who remain on the platform.
06
Audit-Ready Records
From day one, every action on your account is logged with timestamp, user, and outcome. Your compliance record is building itself in real time — available for DAFF inspection, export certification, insurance, or internal audit at any moment.
Eligibility
Who qualifies for pilot access.
Livestock OS accepts applications from any registered South African livestock entity that operates in one of the six chain positions. You do not need to be a large operation — the system is designed for operations of all sizes. You do need to be registered, operational, and willing to run at least one batch through the system during the pilot period.
Farms
- Registered livestock producers — commercial or smallholder
- Must have at least one species of tagged cattle, sheep, goats, pigs, or game
- Commitment to register a minimum of one batch during pilot
- Based in South Africa — any province
Veterinary Practices
- Registered with the South African Veterinary Council (SAVC)
- Currently conducting livestock health and movement inspections
- Private or state veterinarians are both eligible
- Willingness to issue at least one digital VHC during pilot
Feedlots
- Registered feedlot operation — any size
- Currently receiving batches from multiple farms
- Willingness to verify compliance status on incoming batches
- Ability to designate a gate operator user for the portal
Abattoirs
- Registered under the Meat Safety Act 40 of 2000
- Operational abattoir with state vet on site
- Willingness to record intake and slaughter results per batch
- Ideally already using MeatMatrix or equivalent production software
What to Expect
From application to live in the chain.
Day 1
Application received
We acknowledge your application within 24 hours and conduct an initial eligibility check based on your entity type, location, and current operations.
Day 2–3
Onboarding call
A member of the Livestock OS team contacts you to discuss your operation, your role in the chain, and which other pilot entities you may be connected to. This takes 30–45 minutes.
Week 1
Entity setup
We configure your account, register your entity, and — for farms — assist with initial animal registration. Vet practices receive their signing credentials. Feedlots and abattoirs are connected to their incoming chain entities.
Week 2
First batch through the chain
Your operation runs its first live batch through the system. We are available throughout to assist with any step. The batch is real — real animals, real compliance records, real chain status from start to finish.
Ongoing
Connected and operational
You continue operating through Livestock OS. Feedback is collected through a dedicated channel. The system develops around your operational realities. At pilot close, commercial continuation terms are confirmed.
