ANIMAL MOVEMENT

Movement is the highest-risk event in the livestock chain. Livestock OS controls every departure — validating compliance before a batch moves, recording the journey, and confirming arrival at the destination.

V001 Live

Nothing moves without confirmation.

The movement module enforces a strict state machine. A batch must pass all compliance checks before it can enter the IN_TRANSIT state. Certificate and movement validity rules are applied according to the relevant disease-control protocol, permit conditions, species, origin, destination and authorised veterinary requirements. Livestock OS enforces the gate — it does not override the authority of the permit issuer.

Pre-Movement Compliance Gate

Before dispatch, the system validates: batch composition confirmed, veterinary approval recorded, health documentation current per applicable requirements, movement permit reference captured, and FMD zone routing confirmed. Any gap blocks departure.

Movement Record

Departure timestamp, origin, destination, transporter details and permit reference are recorded against the batch at the point of departure confirmation — not retrospectively.

Arrival Confirmation

The receiving gate operator confirms arrival, records the intake time, and initiates the destination-side compliance check. The batch state advances to AT_GATE and then ARRIVED.
