An auction is a movement event, a compliance checkpoint, and a change of ownership — all in one. Livestock OS supports the documentation layer: verifying incoming batches are compliant before they enter the sale, recording lot assignments, and confirming transfer at the point of sale. Integration with auction platform software requires a formal partnership agreement.
Incoming Lot Verification
Before animals enter the auction, compliance documentation — movement permits, health certificates, ear tag verification — can be cross-checked against Livestock OS batch records. Holds animals with incomplete documentation before they move through the sale.
Lot Assignment & Catalogue
Lot numbers can be linked to Livestock OS batch identifiers, creating a chain of reference from farm of origin through to the sale. Sale records can reference the batch identity without replacing auction management software.
Post-Sale Transfer
After the hammer falls, ownership transfer is recorded as a system event. The new owner's details are linked to the animal or batch record. Movement documentation for the onward journey is generated from the updated record.
