A private sale creates a movement event and a compliance obligation. The seller must ensure the animal is compliant to move. The buyer needs documentation that the animal arrived with a clean record. Livestock OS creates the documentation layer for this transaction without replacing the commercial agreement between parties.
Seller Obligations
Before transfer, the seller verifies the animal or batch record is complete: ear tags confirmed, health documentation current, movement permit generated for the intended route. Livestock OS provides the compliance verification step before dispatch.
Transfer Documentation
A transfer event records the change of custody from seller to buyer, timestamped and linked to the animal or batch identifiers. This creates an auditable record independent of the commercial invoice.
Buyer Record
The buyer receives confirmation of the animal's compliance status at point of transfer. The animal record is updated with new owner details, ready for registration on the receiving farm and for future movement documentation.
