Movement documents, health certificates, movement permits and compliance records — Livestock OS creates, stores and validates the document layer that authorises every step in the chain.

Every document. In its place.
The compliance document layer digitises the paper trail — not to replace the legal authority of the documents, but to ensure they are captured, referenced and accessible at every step. Livestock OS records authenticated electronic approvals and timestamps. The legal status and required document format for each certificate remain subject to the applicable legislation, permit conditions and acceptance by the relevant authority.
Movement Permits
Movement permit references are captured against the batch record at the compliance clearance step. The permit number, issuing state vet office, route authorisation and conditions are recorded. Livestock OS does not issue movement permits — it records the permit issued by the relevant authority.
Health Certificates
Veterinary health certificate references are recorded by the approving veterinarian during the VET_APPROVED workflow step. Certificate number, issuing vet, date and validity conditions are archived in the animal passport.
Compliance Artefacts
Additional compliance documents — test results, dip certificates, feedlot intake records — can be attached as reference artefacts to the batch or animal record. These are reference records, not legally executed documents unless issued by the relevant authority.

All compliance document references captured during the batch workflow are archived in the animal passport. Accessible to authorised operators for audit review.

Compliance Checklist
Each batch workflow step includes a structured compliance checklist. Outstanding items block progression to the next state until resolved by the appropriate operator.
Planned
Document Generation
Generation of formatted movement documentation from the batch record, for use as a supporting reference alongside the official permit. Planned — subject to regulatory guidance on acceptable formats.
