Genetic origin. In the record.

For premium livestock — Wagyu, registered Angus, stud Boer Goat — the genetic record is the value record. Livestock OS provides identifier fields for sire, dam and studbook reference in the animal passport. Full pedigree traceability with validation against breed registries requires formal partnership agreements with the relevant breed societies. This is a planned integration pathway.

Identifier Fields

V001 supports sire ID, dam ID and optional studbook reference number fields in the animal registration record. These are reference fields populated manually — not validated against external registries in the current version.

Breed Society Integration

Live cross-referencing of animal identity against breed society studbooks is a planned integration pathway. Each breed society requires a separate formal data-sharing agreement before integration can proceed.

Performance Data Link

Linking EBV and performance data from breed recording schemes to the Livestock OS record is a planned capability dependent on breed society partnership and data-sharing agreements.
