Veterinary approval is the compliance gate that authorises movement. Livestock OS manages the vet's role in the chain — confirming inspection, recording health certification, and blocking non-compliant batches from dispatch.

No vet approval. No movement.

Veterinary health certification is the compliance gate before any livestock movement. Livestock OS manages this step as a structured workflow state — a batch cannot advance from PENDING_VET to VET_APPROVED without a confirmed veterinary action in the system. Certificate and movement validity rules are applied according to the relevant disease-control protocol, permit conditions, species, origin, destination and authorised veterinary requirements.

Vet Inspection Record
The attending veterinarian records their inspection outcome against the batch. Any animals failing inspection are separated. The inspection record includes date, vet identity, findings and certificate reference number.
Health Certificate Reference
The certificate reference number, issuing authority and date are captured in the batch compliance record. Livestock OS records authenticated electronic approvals and timestamps. The legal status of each certificate remains subject to the applicable legislation and acceptance by the relevant authority.
Compliance Gate
Until the veterinary approval step is confirmed in the system, the batch is held in PENDING_VET state. No movement documentation is generated for an unapproved batch.
