HERD MANAGEMENT
Managing a herd inside Livestock OS means every animal is registered, every batch is documented, and every departure or arrival updates the live herd state. No manual reconciliation. No missing records.
V001 Pilot
The herd as a live record.
Herd management in Livestock OS is not a spreadsheet. It is a live state derived from registered animals, batch events, arrivals and departures. When a batch leaves, the herd count updates. When new animals arrive, they are registered and added. The herd record is always current — because it is built from the same events that drive compliance.
Live Herd State
The herd count and composition are derived from registration and movement events — not manually entered. Adding an animal to the system adds it to the herd. A confirmed departure removes it.
Batch Organisation
Animals can be grouped into batches by species, breed, age class or movement destination. Batch records drive compliance workflows and movement documentation without duplicating the underlying animal record.
Herd History
Every change to the herd — arrival, departure, death, transfer — is recorded as a dated event. Historical herd composition is available for audit, insurance or regulatory review.
