TRANSPORTERS

Livestock transport is the highest-risk compliance point. Disease spreads during movement. Livestock OS validates that a batch is cleared to move before the truck departs — and records the transport event in the chain.

Role in the Chain

Movement is the highest-risk moment.

Transporters operate at the intersection of compliance and logistics. Before a truck loads, the system must confirm that all movement documentation is valid for the species, route, origin zone, destination zone and permit conditions. Certificate and movement validity rules are applied according to the relevant disease-control protocol, permit conditions, species, origin, destination and authorised veterinary requirements. Livestock OS provides this gate check — preventing non-compliant animals from loading, and recording the transport event for audit.

Pre-Departure Gate Check

Before loading, the system validates: movement permit valid, health certificates current per applicable requirements, ear tags confirmed against the manifest, and FMD zone routing confirmed. Non-compliant batches are held.

FMD Zone Compliance

Movement across FMD zone boundaries (Protection, Buffer, Disease-Free) requires specific permit conditions. Livestock OS applies zone-aware routing rules — movements that cross zone boundaries without the correct documentation are flagged before dispatch.

Transport Event Record

Departure time, vehicle details, transporter and destination are recorded as a movement event. The record remains linked to the batch through to arrival confirmation at the receiving gate.

V001 Live

Movement Clearance Gate

The core compliance gate check is operational in V001. A batch cannot progress to IN_TRANSIT state without passing the compliance validation step.

V001 Pilot

Transporter Declaration

A transporter-facing declaration step — recording vehicle, driver and departure confirmation against the batch record. In active pilot with the current Protea Reserve Co → Cavalier route.

Planned

GPS Route Confirmation

Live route tracking confirmation linking transport GPS data to the movement record. Planned capability — requires integration with transport management systems.

Load with confirmed clearance.
