Auctions are high-volume transfer points. The Auctions & Sales module connects the compliance record to the sale event — verifying incoming batches, recording lot assignments, and updating ownership at the hammer.

The Auctions & Sales module is a planned integration layer connecting the Livestock OS compliance chain to auction platforms. The goal is to ensure that every animal entering a sale has a verified compliance record — and that every ownership transfer at auction is automatically reflected in the chain of custody. This requires formal integration agreements with auction platform operators and is not currently live.
Pre-Sale Verification
Before animals enter the sale ring, the Livestock OS batch record is verified for compliance. Animals without a cleared status are held. This gate check is available now through manual operator access.
Lot Linking
Auction lot numbers linked to Livestock OS batch identifiers, creating a reference thread from origin farm through to the sale catalogue. Currently manual reference only.
Post-Sale Transfer
Ownership update at sale is currently supported as a manual transfer record. Automatic ownership update triggered by auction platform sale confirmation is a planned integration capability.
