These participants have operational portals in Livestock OS V001. They can log in, create and manage records, and participate in the live chain state machine.

Production

Farmers & Producers

Register animals against ear tag identities. Create and manage batches for movement. Attach compliance documents. Track batch state from farm through the chain. Receive VHC confirmations and gate arrival notifications.

Veterinarians

Receive batch inspection requests. Issue and authenticate Veterinary Health Certificates within the system. Record inspection findings. The only role that can advance a batch from PENDING VET to COMPLIANCE CLEARED.

Transporters

Declare transport movements: vehicle, driver, loading time, route, FMD zone, and estimated arrival. Receive batch details on departure. Flagged if VHC expires before arrival at destination.

Feedlots

Receive pre-arrival batch information. Confirm intake and head count on arrival. Record health monitoring events. Manage dispatch for onward movement to abattoir. Gate and intake operator roles available.

Confirm intake and head count. Record ante-mortem inspection. Capture slaughter events linked to individual carcass identities. Record carcass classification, weight, and condemnation decisions. Link laboratory results to carcass records.

These participants do not yet have dedicated portals but have defined roles, data structures, and integration pathways in the Livestock OS architecture. Connection requires a formal agreement and onboarding process.

Verify animal identity at point of sale. Link buyer and seller to the ownership record. Trigger ownership transfer on confirmed sale. Animal history available to buyers at the point of bidding — subject to permissions.

Laboratories

Submit laboratory results directly to the chain record, linked to the relevant batch, carcass, or animal. Results are attached to the batch compliance package and visible to authorised participants. Integration subject to accreditation and data format agreement.

State veterinary contact data represented across nine provinces as reference data. Regulatory framework context for the Animal Diseases Act, Meat Safety Act and ECTA is available in the system. Formal data-sharing agreements required for any regulatory reporting access.
